SEA is an Italian manufacturer making both hydraulic and electromechanical gate motors. It's not the most common brand here, which means some installers aren't keen to touch it. I am – I repair SEA systems across Carlisle and Cumbria, whoever installed them.
SEA faults I see
- hydraulic motors that leak, lose pressure or move slowly
- electromechanical motors with worn gearboxes or failed capacitors
- control boards damaged by water or power surges
- safety devices stopping the gate from closing
- remotes and receivers that need replacing or recoding
SEA Gate Repairs in Carlisle and Cumbria
SEA systems are fitted on driveways and business entrances around Carlisle, and we see the usual mix of faults: worn motors, control board failures, photocells and safety edges out of line, and remotes that won't pair. We repair SEA gates whoever installed them.

Getting SEA Gate Motors Working Again
Once the fault is found, you get a clear price before any work starts. After the repair we check the photocells, safety edges and closing forces, so your SEA gate is safe as well as working, and we can set up servicing to help stop the same fault returning.
If parts for an older SEA model are no longer available, we'll explain the options honestly, including a compatible replacement or an upgrade to new CAME motors, so you can decide what's best for your gate and your budget.
Finding parts
With less common brands, getting the right part matters. Send me a photo of the motor, any labels on the control box and your remote, and I'll check what's available before I come out. If a part is no longer made, I'll look at a compatible alternative – for example, a new control board that runs your existing motors – before suggesting a full replacement.
Hydraulic SEA motors
Hydraulic motors need specialist care – oil levels, seals and pressure settings. If you see oil on or around the ram, or the gate has started moving weakly, get it checked before it causes more damage.
